Homelessness and Survival

Homelessness and Survival

I was driving home today and saw a homeless man on the street and my mind began to wonder (as it often does ;-))

It dawned on me that the poor homeless person is better equipped to deal with a disaster than many of my friends or I am! I think this is an epiphany of sorts. It is an amazing reality that each of us should spend a few minutes contemplating about.

Think about how simple a life they are forced to live. A life devoid of all the luxuries we feel are necessities. Then think about our dependency on gadgets, on technology...

Imagine a living on the street 24/7, 365 days a year. No source of income. No regular food or shelter.

So much we can learn from the simple homeless man. If only we could tap into his wisdom!

  1. I am not a Jew, but I am a Jewish prepper in that as Christians we believe that God would have us care for Jews in the "time of Jacob's trouble," which will be our time of trouble as well if we do what God wants us to. We are in the Northeast, and are having a meeting on October. We see God's promise that He will bless those who bless you, and curse those who curse you as a very good thing. Anyone interested?

  2. God said in his word that when I was naked you did not clothe me, when I was hungry you did not feed me. Lord have mercy and now here we are with millions of people on the streets and no where to go will we not open up hearts not only as Chrisitians but as human being and help someone else along the way. God give us the strength to look past are selves and lend a hand to our brother and sisters.Grant us the strength to change the we can change and help where we are needed. No matter the color of our skin or even our religion we all need each other to survie.

We are interested in using above picture w for a monography/project about homelessness in America:

How can we obtain the rights to use the picture or get in contact with the photographer?

Thank you very much for your help!
