Welcome to the grand opening of Jewish Preppers

Welcome to the grand opening of Jewish Preppers. I created this forum in order to unite like-minded Jews (and Jewish supporter) who believe that it is prudent to be prepared for any eventuality.

I, for one, get a little bit nervous when I see all the white supremacy, racist rants and I would feel more secure being with people that share my own faith.

Everyone is welcome on this forum as long as they remain civil. Open debate is welcome. It will be monitored and I will not hesitate to delete any posts I feel are hateful in nature.

Please let me know if you have any comments or suggestions.

Last note: As with anywhere else, please be cautious about personal information you share.

  1. Well, I'm white and a christian, but I certainly have no problem supporting our Jewish brothers and sisters especially when it comes to sharing the importance of getting prepared. Welcome to the Survival and Preparedness Community

  2. Great concept. Looking forward to this becoming a thriving site. Is there a more direct link that I'm missing for emailing you?

  3. Of course. I found the email link! Sorry about that. I'm very interested in engaging like-minded preppers, particularly in the northeast. And, without going too far afield, I'm also interested in exploring topics like defending and securing our synagogues and JCC's, along with Jewish Day School, the latter of which my child attends locally. I think all of those things relate in one way or another to the overal topic and perhpas have their place on a forum type setting. as there been any thought to creating a forum? Just wondering...Lets get the dialog going! Lets just start with maybe a minyan.... ;)Have it grow from there!

  4. OK. I'm an Orthodox Jew and I'm convinced that we need to be prepared for any disaster. I bought James Rawles book "How to Survive the End of the World as We Know It" mostly because I heard him on the Laura Ingram Show and he sounded fairly reasonable. However, it is clear that although he tries to help anyone who asks for help, he is mostly concerned with a Christian focus... as many "preppers" are. I need to discuss something a little more Jewish oriented. I decided to do a Google search today and found your web site. I'm glad to add my two-cents and look forward to reading what you have to say.

  5. Its good to see a few others have signed on here. I'll say it again: I think this has the potential to become a very important gathering place for the prepper community. I consider myself a disciple (yes, irony intended) of Jim Rawles, and I believe him to be without a prejuidiced bone in his body. Read him at length both at his blog and his fiction and I think you'll find the same thing. In fact, I believe him to be a friend of the Jews based on what I've seen. But I believe there to be serious issues facing the Jewish community when it comes to preparedness in general and security more specifically. Sure, the vast majority of preparedness issues we face have nothing to do with our religious or ethnic, but there are clearly some cultural challenges we face as Jews that are unique to us. Perhaps a good starting place for us here would be for us to identify what those are and put them on the table for discussion. So lets get the ball rolling people! The person who created this site has taken a leap of faith, lets support that and take advantage of the opportunities this forum gives us. Anyone?

  6. Congratulations on the start up of your site. Being a non religious Jew I still don't feel comfortable with a lot of the Christian preppers out there regarding their religous beliefs. I got to you thru James Rawles site. I think this is a great idea. As the economic world situation gets worse, I can't help but wonder if we as Jews will start to be blamed for the problems. It has happened thruout history, why should things change? Even if this is not the case, Living in Southern California with our wonderful earthquakes, I started on on the path to preparedness. People think that when the big one hits us that services will be down for a few days or a week. The last major quake we had required all fire and medical emeregency services resources to be occupied with in about 2 hours. After that you were out of luck. My point is that everyone needs to be prepared. One of the easiest things out there to do today is to find a local CERT training (Community Emergency Response Training) usually offered by the Fire Dapartment. As Rawles says, the key to long term survival may not be so much the physical things you have but rather the skills you have. Anyone else out there in Southern California?

Would have created this as a new entry if I had figured that out yet. May be just one lone crazy person but I think it speaks volumes...
